Liverpool Community Chorus is a longstanding community choir based in Liverpool, New York. With a rich history of 45 years, we are dedicated to creating a welcoming and inclusive space for music lovers to come together and share their passion for singing. Frequently Asked Questions

How often do you perform?

Liverpool Community Chorus generally performs twice a year (June, December) at Liverpool High School.  We are at times invited to perform at other community events and concerts.

Do I need to audition to join?

No audition is required to join Liverpool Community Chorus. We welcome singers of all levels and backgrounds.

What is the time commitment for rehearsals?

Our weekly rehearsals take place every Tuesday evening from 6:45-8:45pm January-June Spring semester and September-December Fall semester. Members are encouraged to attend regularly to get the most out of their choral experience.

Who can join?

The chorus invites members of many ages.  From middle school to 100+ years young.  We encourage families and friends.

Note: if you have a family member that is not in middle school, but would like to join, contact us with the information.  If your child is mature enough to handle the 2 hour practice and concert time we will put you in touch with the Chorus Director.

Purpose

The mission of the organization is as follows:

  • To foster a deep appreciation for group harmony singing while educating both members and the general public about this unique musical art form.
  • To allocate funds raised through concerts and donations (after covering operational expenses) to charitable causes or organizations that operate exclusively for such purposes and are tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3).
  • To participate in and support activities that further these objectives.
  • To cultivate a sense of fellowship and camaraderie among chorus members.
  • To provide meaningful opportunities for members to grow and enhance their choral skills and experiences.
